Training programme on Livestock & Poultry Vaccination cum Animal Health Camp
ICAR-KVK Anjaw organized 3 days capacity building programme of farmers through training on Vaccination and Different Methods of Vaccine Administration in Livestock & Poultry at Walong, Anjaw district on 18/02/2022 to 20/02/22. The aim of the hands on training programme was to furnish scientific information and correct procedure of different method of vaccine administration in livestock and poultry. Seasonal disease is one of the major bottle neck of livestock and poultry sector of Anjaw district. Frequent occurrence of seasonal disease causes huge economic losses on livestock and poultry farmers residing in eastern most remote area of Walong region. During the technical session vaccine & its importance, types and its production procedure, precaution before, during and after vaccination of livestock & poultry were explained in length by the Course Director Dr. Santosh Kumar SMS Animal Science. During the practical resource person Dr Doni Jini Scientist ICAR AP Centre demonstrated the different method of vaccination in cattle, goat, pig and poultry. The participant was very interested to take part in the training of vaccination and primary health care of livestock. During the training programme participant learn the vaccination method and also participated in vaccination of poultry, goat, pig and cattle against the seasonal disease FMD and Ranikhet. The training was concluded with the hopes that farmers may vaccinate their livestock and poultry by his own in the future. At the end of the programme Animal Health Camp was organized in collaboration with ICAR AP Centre Basar to know how about primary health management and vaccination of livestock and Poultry. Total 60 cattle/Goat were vaccinated with FMD vaccine along with poultry bird 1500 no. with Ranikhet vaccine. Cattle, pig and Goat suffering with diarrhea, dysentery, off feed and external wound were treated and necessary anthelmintics, anti-diarrhoeals/diasentry, liver & digestive tonic, acaricidal solution for management of ticks and mites, Mineral mixture etc were provided to the farmers. Total 55 participants from walong, Tinai, Kundan, Tilam and GB Shri C Meyor, Walong and Shri G Meyor Tinai village and KVK SMS Mr. Peter Singh was also attended the programme
